A delegation of representatives of Institute of Access to Public Information of Honduras (IAIP) and of International Development Law Organization (IDLO) visited yesterday the headquarters of the Transparency Council to hold a meeting in which the Spanish regulatory framework in the field of public transparency and protection of personal data and the main aspects of the work carried out by the Council to protect the right of access to public information, promote public transparency and monitor compliance with the obligations of active publicity were analyzed.
The President of the Council, José Luis Rodríguez Álvarez, received the IAIP Commissioner, Lucy Hernández, to exchange information on the work of both institutions to guarantee the right of citizens to information. The working meeting was attended, by the Council, the Deputy Director-General of Transparency, Gonzalo Gómez, the Assistant Director-General for Claims, Marta Timónthe head of the Support Unit, Isabel Lombardero, and the vocal advisor Enrique Orduña. On the part of the IAIP, Lucy Hernández; Yamileth Abelina Torres, Secretary General; Carlos Alberto Tabora, legal adviser to the Plenary of Commissioners, and Aviazas Amibilec Pavón, Technology Manager. On behalf of IDLO, an intergovernmental organization based in Rome dedicated to the promotion of the rule of law, participated Fanny Gallo, Carlos Franco and Dulce Pavón.
The delegation had the opportunity to learn about the work of the Transparency Council regarding compliance with the regulations on transparency in public administration, ensuring that the right of access to information is exercised without compromising the protection of personal data.
