Available for consultation on the resolutions issued by the Council in July in 131 complaints procedures against the General State Administration and the state public sector.

Promoting the culture of transparency among the entities and agencies of the Local Administration is the objective of the agreement signed between the Council of Transparency and Good Government (CTBG) and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) and which has published the Official State Gazette on Friday, August 14.

The president of the Council of Transparency and Good Government, Concepción Campos, and the director of the Spanish Agency for Supervision of Artificial Intelligence (AESIA), Alberto Gago, met last Thursday, August 6, to promote the collaboration of the two entities with the aim of making the use of AI in the public sector more transparent and understandable to citizens.

In the first half of 2026, the Council of Transparency and Good Governance received a total of 1,758 complaints submitted by citizens dissatisfied with the response or silence of the Administration to their requests for information. This means that 60% more claims have been filed than in the same period of 2025.

The president of the Council of Transparency and Good Government, Concepción Campos, held yesterday the first institutional meeting with the director of the new State Agency for Evaluation of Public Policies (AEEPP), Milagros Paniagua. During the meeting, both leaders expressed their interest in collaborating in order to assess the advisability of reviewing and updating the MESTA methodology, used by the Council to assess compliance with the active publicity obligations of public and private entities.

The Council of Transparency and Good Governance (CTBG) has just published the reports of the evaluation carried out this year to measure the level of compliance with the obligations of active publicity of 153 entities of the public sector institutional state.

Aware of the importance of making the right of access to public information compatible with the guarantees of confidentiality required for the protection of persons who report a possible violation, the Council of Transparency and Good Governance (CTBG) and the Independent Authority for the Protection of the Informant (AIPI) will prepare a joint guide in order to provide clear criteria on how to manage requests for access related to the files that give rise to the communications presented under Law 2/2023, of 20 February, regulating the protection of persons who report on normative violations and the fight against corruption.

The Council for Transparency and Good Governance (CTBG) once again has a voice as an observer in the Open Government Forum, a stable collegiate body of collaboration and dialogue between public administrations (state, regional and local) and civil society that aims to promote transparency, participation and accountability.
