The Council has today received a delegation from the Administration of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which has been able to learn first-hand about the configuration, functions and activity of the independent authority, especially with regard to the evaluation of compliance with active publicity obligations and the defence of the right of access to public information.

“Transparency has a triple effect against corruption: deterrent, detection and transformative. It is one of the most effective instruments for preventing corruption before it occurs. It is not a reactive measure; it is a preventive tool”, said yesterday the President of the Council in her speech within the framework of the conference “The fight against corruption in France and Spain”.

Available for consultation the 85 resolutions issued by the Council in May in complaint procedures against the autonomous and local administrations of those autonomous communities with which we have agreement.

Organised in Tallinn (Estonia) on 1 and 2 June, the European Case Handling Workshop FOI 2026 brought together experts from transparency authorities from 13 European countries, with the aim of sharing knowledge on practical challenges in the management and work of guaranteeing the right of access to information.

In the framework of the meeting of the Conference of Guarantor Bodies of Transparency and Access to Public Information (COTAI) in Barcelona, the president of the Council of Transparency and Good Governance (CTBG), Concepción Campos Acuña, gave a presentation yesterday on the possibilities of technology and artificial intelligence in the field of transparency, putting on the table proposals that allow to promote a more open administration.

The president of the Council of Transparency and Good Government, Concepción Campos Acuña, participated on June 2 in Madrid in the high-level panel "Transparency with a gender perspective in Ibero-America: evidence, challenges and cooperation", organized by the Organization of Ibero-American States and the body Transparency for the People of Mexico. In the session he recalled that “what is not seen, does not exist”, and that is why the right of access to public information and transparency in public management “should serve to make visible and correct gender inequality.”

The president of the Council for Transparency and Good Governance, Concepción Campos, met yesterday with the Ombudsman, Ángel Gabilondo, at the headquarters of this institution, in an institutional meeting aimed at analyzing the current state of transparency in public administrations, and in which the high percentage of complaints submitted to the Council for administrative silence was highlighted.

Published by the Fundación Democracia y Gobierno Local, the new edition of this volume essential to understand the panorama of transparency and the right of access to public information at the local level was presented on May 29 in Seville, within the framework of the conference “Transparency and Local Governments”, organized by the Foundation and the Diputación de Sevilla. The Board’s advisory member, Enrique Orduña Prada, secretary of the Yearbook, moderated one of the round tables of the day.

The President of the Council, Concepción Campos Acuña, met today with the General Secretary of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), Luis Martínez-Sicluna Sepúlveda, and with the Deputy Director of Administrative Modernization of the FEMP, José Luis Garrote González, in order to explore ways of collaboration to promote joint actions that strengthen transparency and the right of access to public information at the local level. The two institutions have agreed that they will formalize an agreement to articulate training and dissemination actions, among other formulas.

The president of the Council of Transparency and Good Government, Concepción Campos Acuña, met yesterday with the president of the Advisory Council of Galicia and Commissioner of Transparency of Galicia, Andrés Lago Louro, at the headquarters of the Council in Santiago de Compostela.
