The correct application of the principles of publicity and transparency in public procurement acts as an essential mechanism for the prevention of corruption, favors the efficient use of public resources and strengthens public confidence in institutions by allowing public scrutiny.
Collaboration between these two bodies is essential, given that one of the main functions of OIReScon is to promote and supervise transparency in public procurement procedures and that the Council is the independent authority responsible for ensuring compliance with the obligations of active publicity imposed by the Transparency Act, including the obligation to publish certain information on contracts signed by the Administration. On the other hand, the Council resolves complaints submitted by citizens who have not been satisfied with their request for information, and in many cases what is requested is access to contracts or recruitment files.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Director-General for Transparency and Good Governance, CTBG.
