This morning, the President of the Council for Transparency and Good Governance, José Luis Rodríguez Álvarez, has met with Oscar Mauricio Guerra Ford and Francisco Javier Acuña Llamas, Commissioners of National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (INAI) of Mexico
This meeting, held at the headquarters of the CTBG, has had as its main objective to exchange experiences and intensify the collaboration between both institutions to strengthen the Right of access to public information and move forward in the implementation of culture of transparency, so much in Mexico and Spain, as in the international arena.
INAI is the institution similar to the CTBG in Mexico that, together with its powers as guarantor of transparency and access to public information, also acts as the supervisory authority for compliance with the regulations on personal data protection. It's a federal level constitutional body which, in addition to its activity in the internal order, has one broad international presence, currently holding the Presidency of the Latin American Network of Transparency and Access to Information Authorities (RTA) and the Chair of the Executive Committee of the International Conference of Information Commissioners (ICIC), network of worldwide transparency bodies.
