The Council is once again contributing to the organization of the International Congress on Transparency, whose 9th edition begins today

The Council of Transparency and Good Governance contributes one more edition, as a sponsor, to the great annual event of transparency in Spain: the International Congress of Transparency and Open Government (CIT), whose 9th edition begins today in León.

The Council of Transparency and Good Governance contributes one more edition, as a sponsor, to the great annual event of transparency in Spain: the International Congress on Transparency and Open Government (ILC), whose 9th edition begins today in León.

The Faculty of Law of the University of León will host until September 27 this meeting in which academics, public employees, heads of administrations, journalists and representatives of civil organizations will analyze capital issues on transparency, access to public information, accountability and open government.

These are the activities with the participation of the team of the Council of Transparency and Good Governance.

  • Wednesday, 25 September

16:30 h: the president of the CTBG, José Luis Rodríguez Álvarez, intervenes in the inaugural act of the Congress, together with the vice-rector of the University of León, the mayor of León, José Antonio Diez, the dean of the Colegio de Abogados de León, Fernando Rodríguez Santocildes, the general secretary of INCIBE, Carla Redondo Galbarriatu, and the director of the IX CIT, Manuel Sánchez de Diego

17 h: the president of the CTBG, José Luis Rodríguez Álvarez, speaks in the plenary session “Evolution of transparency in the world”.

18:30 h. Ana María Ruiz Martínez, CTBG advisory member and expert in the evaluation of transparency obligations, intervenes in the Working Group “Active Advertising: aspects that can be improved according to the evaluation”, session coordinated by Marta Corcoy Rius.

10 h. The Transparency Council coordinates the plenary session “Main actions of the Guarantor Bodies of Transparency”, in which the president of the Council of Transparency and Good Governance, José Luis Rodríguez Álvarez, and the director of the Office of Territorial Claims of the Council, José Manuel Jover Lorente, will intervene, along with supervisory bodies that ensure at the regional level the right of access to public information.

Representatives of the following institutions will participate: the Commission for the Guarantee of the Right of Access to Public Information of Catalonia (GAIP); the Transparency and Data Protection Council of Andalusia; the Valencian Transparency Council; the Regional Council for Transparency and Good Governance of Castilla-La Mancha; the Transparency Commissioner of the Canary Islands; the Transparency Council of Navarre and the Transparency Commissioner of Castilla y León. There will also be representation from the Commission of Acesso aos Administrative Documents (CADA) of Portugal.

The session will discuss resolutions of special interest to claims filed under Article 24 of the LTAIBG.

16 h. The head of the Support Unit of the CTBG, Isabel Lombardero Lasarte, and the vocal advisor Enrique Orduña Prada intervene in the working group “10 years of the Transparency Law and the strategy for the Open Government of the future”, coordinated by Lidia Pérez Moreno.

16 h: The Deputy Director General of Transparency and Good Governance, Gonzalo Gómez de Villalobos, intervenes in the Working Group “Political parties: portals of transparency and evaluation”, session coordinated by Rafa Ayala González.
