During the meeting, the Commission approved the report of the Transparency Council to the Draft Ministerial Order regulating the protection of classified information in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise. One of the functions attributed by Law 19/2013 on transparency, access to information and good governance (LTAIBG) to the Transparency and Good Governance Commission is to provide mandatory information on regulatory projects of a state nature that develop it or that are related to its purpose.

Also, at the meeting, the President of the Council, José Luis Rodríguez Álvarez, has informed the members of the Commission of the Activities carried out by the independent authority in 2024 in its two main functional areas: the resolution of the complaints provided for in article 24 of the LTAIBG on access to public information and the assessment of the fulfilment of the obligations of active transparency by the subjects concerned.

Regarding the first, he has highlighted that until November 31, 2024 1,442 claims have been resolved at the state level, which is 38.1% more than in the same period of the previous year. With regard to the evaluation work carried out by the Council, By the end of 2024, 310 public and private institutions, bodies and entities will have been evaluated, 23.5% more entities than in 2023.

The President of the Council It has also advanced some of the main projects of the institution for 2025, year in which it will celebrate its tenth anniversary. Thus, in line with the process of modernization of its corporate identity undertaken in 2024, the next exercise will undertake the redesign of its website, in order to improve its accessibility, navigability and usability. The interpretative criteria issued by the Council on various aspects of the Transparency Act will also be reviewed to bring them into line with the Council ' s most up-to-date jurisprudence and doctrine, and the evaluation work carried out by the independent authority will be intensified.
