In the session, the President of the Council, José Luis Rodríguez Álvarez, spoke with the presentation “The Transparency Council and the right of access to public information”, while the Deputy Director General of State Complaints, Marta Timón Herrero, analyzed “The guarantee of the right to public information: controversial issues and litigation cases”.
The meeting provided the judges with detailed information on the configuration of the Council as an independent administrative authority responsible for ensuring public transparency and the right of access to public information, the nature and content of this right and its limits, and how jurisprudence has been shaping and delimiting the provisions contained in Law 19/2013 on transparency, access to public information and good governance.
The course is coordinated between 5 and 22 May by the director of the Technical Office of the Supreme Court, Alfonso Rincón González-Alegre.
