Following the formation of ENTRI (European Network for Transparency and Right to Information), the members of the Executive Committee were unanimously elected for the next three years: it will be composed of the representatives of Spain, Portugal, France, Scotland, Kosovo and Germany, which chairs it, and also assumes the chairmanship of the Network.

The European Network for Transparency and Access to Information is born as a stable framework for collaboration between the guarantor bodies of the different European states. Its purpose is to promote the culture of transparency through cooperation and the exchange of knowledge, experiences and good practices in areas of common interest, as well as the adoption of common positions on transparency and access to public information.

As stated in the Founding Charter of the Network, the Executive Committee is mandated to “coordinate the activities of the Network, support the preparation and adoption of Assembly resolutions, manage accession processes and exercise other governance and administrative functions.”

With this new commitment, underlines the president of the CTBG, José Luis Rodríguez Álvarez, the Council “strengthens its role in the international arena and will actively contribute to promoting transparency, the exchange of good practices and cooperation between European agencies to advance in the guarantee of the right of access to public information, a fundamental pillar for good governance in advanced democratic societies”.

It should be recalled that at the international level the Council also cooperates with Ibero-American countries, being part of the Ibero-American Network for Transparency and Access to Information, currently constituted by 42 entities, including 35 authorities supervising the right of access to information in 18 countries.
