During the meetings, held in the Council, perspectives were exchanged on the practical challenges faced by guarantor institutions, including the significant increase in complaints regarding the right of access to public information and the need to continue strengthening the mechanisms of coordination and response to an increasingly demanding citizenry in the exercise of its right to know.
There was also talk about the opportunities that technology and AI represent to promote public transparency, and, on the other hand, the challenge of ensuring the transparency of the applications used by the Administration that use algorithms and artificial intelligence.
These meetings are part of the round of contacts that the new Presidency is maintaining with the councils and autonomous supervisory commissioners in these matters, with the aim of strengthening the channels of collaboration and improving the service provided to citizens.
The Council and the autonomous guarantor bodies are integrated into the Conference of Guarantor Bodies for Transparency and the Right of Access to Public Information (COTAI), an entity of horizontal collaboration, without legal personality, whose purpose is to contribute to strengthening these rights at all levels of the State through joint actions.
