The Committee on Transparency and Good Governance, at the meeting held this morning at the headquarters of the Council on Transparency and Good Governance, A.A.I. (CTBG), has approved the institution’s Activity Report 2023, which reflects a substantial increase over the previous year, both in the number of claims for protection of the right to public information resolved and in the number of entities that have been evaluated to verify the degree of compliance with their obligations of active publicity.
At the meeting, the Chairman of the Transparency Council, D. José Luis Rodríguez Álvarez, who also chairs the Committee on Transparency and Good Governance, has welcomed the new members representing Congress and the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD): the deputy D. José Luis Aceves Galindo, and the lawyer of the State-head of the Legal Cabinet of the AEPD, Mrs. María del Socorro Garrido Moreno. These two vocalías were vacant since the ceses of D. Odón Elorza and D. David Javier Santos Sánchez as a result of having ceased to belong to the institutions they represented.
With these additions, whose formal designation took place by Agreement of the Council of Ministers of 30 April 2024all the spokesmen of the Committee on Transparency and Good Governance have been covered (the body formed, in addition to its president, who will be the president of the CTBG, by representatives of the Congress, the Senate, the Court of Auditors, the Ombudsman, the AEPD, the State Secretariat for the Civil Service and the Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility).
During the meeting, the latest activities carried out by the institution and the planned actions for the coming months have also been examined.
