During the meeting, they exchanged experiences and knowledge on the functioning of the institutions responsible for guaranteeing transparency and the right of access to public information in Spain and Chile, as well as on the respective regulatory frameworks that support their activity.
In this regard, the meeting highlighted that in the Chilean model, the Council for Transparency has the power to sanction violations of its resolutions and the obligations of transparency. This capacity contributes decisively to strengthening the levels of compliance and transparency of public bodies.
The meeting also served to address some of the main challenges currently facing the bodies that guarantee transparency, such as transparency. algorithmic, and the new citizens' demands on access to public information.
